Laura Jaremko

Hey y’all, I’m Laura (she/her). I’m from Allegany, a small town near Buffalo, NY (think Buffalo Bills football, chicken wings, Niagara Falls, lots of snow, etc.). I went to undergrad at Siena College in Albany, where I majored in Biology with a minor in Franciscan Service and Advocacy. I then worked as a medical assistant/scribe at a dermatology clinic in Buffalo before moving to Bend, OR.

In Bend, I had the opportunity to work with youth experiencing houselessness as a street outreach worker through a year-long program called Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest. That transformative year ignited my desire to work with marginalized populations and solidified my love for spending time in the beauty of Mother Nature through outdoor recreation. From Bend, I moved down to San Antonio, TX to attend med school at University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. There, I fully committed to all things FM and I’m super stoked to now call myself an AKFMR resident!

My passions in medicine include full-spectrum care, rural medicine, obstetrics, and reproductive justice. My passions in life include all things outdoors, my cat Toli, and building community wherever life takes me.
