Dayana Lau
Hello, My name is Dayana and I am a 1st generation immigrant from Peru, my family immigrated when I was a baby all the way up to Alaska! I lived in Anchorage my whole life and grew up on the East/Muldoon side of town. I studied Biology, Chemistry and Spanish at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. After graduation, I worked as an inpatient pharmacy technician at the Alaska Native Medical Center for five years before having the amazing opportunity to work as an associate chemistry lab professor at the University of Alaska. I soon yearned for adventure and to travel outside and into the lower 48 states. The opportunity presented itself when I attended medical school at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. Soon enough, I felt the call back home hit me as I entered 4th year of medical school. I hope to continue my medical career working the underserved populations in Alaska.
I love the Alaska outdoors and I am very happy to be back. Nothing beats hiking and fishing in the summer and enjoying sledding and long walks in the winter snow.
