Bob received his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine after taking some time off to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. After completing his internship in Oregon, he practiced as a primary care physician for four years in Nome, Alaska, and 12 years in a Community Health Center on the Big Island of Hawaii. In 2004 he joined AKFMR to complete his residency training. Afterwards, he worked at Southcentral Foundation Primary Care Clinic until 2009 when he returned to AKFMR as faculty.
