Justin was born on the Palouse and raised in rural Moscow, Idaho. In college, he went to Australia for 18 months to study maritime archaeology and befriended Australian medical students which planted the seed for a career in medicine. While spending 3 months in Cambodia with a dedicated Swiss pediatrician in 2008, he realized his purpose was to become a physician. He graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and is continuing his education in Alaska. Justin is drawn to the welcoming personality and impressive skill sets of his fellow residents and faculty at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency. Further, he is drawn to the full scope training offered in Alaska and the unique demands that truly rural medicine will place on him to help him grow in to the type of family physician he desires to be.
