Evan was born and raised in the northern outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia to a family of avid hikers, paddlers, and fishermen. He spent his youth exploring the small streams and overgrown hollows of the north Georgia mountains. A lifelong Bulldog fan, he was excited to attend the University of Georgia where he briefly flirted with the idea of pursuing a life of bench research. After several semesters under the fume hood, Evan realized he needed more of the human element in his work. He stayed in Athens for his medical training, affording him the opportunity both to serve the community that he loved as well as gain four more years of student football tickets. He was attracted to Alaska for the opportunity to learn full spectrum family medicine in a truly remarkable environment and culture. In his off time you might find him fly-fishing along the Parks highway, or watching a film at Bear’s Tooth Theatre Pub. He is accompanied to Alaska by his beautiful girlfriend Jamie, and their two cats Simon and Lucy.
