Alaska wooed Briana from Arizona where she was born and raised, primarily with stories of the snow caves and winter camping that is part of the AKFMR winter survival retreat. She had rural experience in Kenya where she treated children with HIV and also in Nepal where she spent time in medical school. She was well prepared for the rural cultural experience in Alaska, particularly in Bethel. She is a self described “Desert Flower” who met her Alaska Mountain Man and recently got engaged.
