Kenneth Kang

Kenneth’s path to medicine was nontraditional. As a child born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California, he aspired to take on Cobra Commander as “A Real American Hero” (go Joe!).  He earned his undergraduate degree in Criminology at the University of California, Irvine, before joining the United States Army as an infantry officer. During combat deployment to Iraq his interest in medicine became apparent.

In the small confines of a makeshift hospital, he became intimately familiar with medical professionals working in high-stress situations. After his paid vacation to Iraq, Kenneth learned all about corn and loose meat sandwiches in the State of Iowa, where he earned his medical degree from Des Moines University.

In his free time, Kenneth enjoys off-roading, snowboarding, photography, and scarfing down cheeseburgers. He is looking forward to the warm, sunny beaches of Alaska.
