Kali Staman

Kali Staman, MD

Kali was raised in the Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey. When not listening to stories about trauma codes and emergency department adventures over dinner with her nurse parents, she spent her days playing in the woods and kayaking on beautiful brown cedar-water rivers.

Kali found her love for both medicine and the mountains around the same time and has been pointed northward ever since! After earning her Biochemistry degree from Rowan University, she visited Alaska for the first time (and kept finding excuses to come back!)

In medical school at Cooper Medical School in Camden, NJ, Kali became engaged with Street Medicine – a group who delivers basic medical care and connection to resources to unhoused and rough-sleeping folks in the city. She discovered her passion for full spectrum care in non-traditional and low-resource areas.

She’s thrilled to have found another reason to come back to Alaska to work and play in the mountains!
