Barbara was born and raised in Massachusetts. She attended medical school in Fort Lauderdale, FL at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she met her husband, Chris. During medical school, she completed a one year fellowship in osteopathic manipulation and sports medicine to further improve her skills in these areas. She has always had a love for underserved, rural family medicine. It was this interest that moved her and her husband to Anchorage to complete their residency at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency. After residency, she moved to Zuni, NM to practice full scope rural family medicine in an IHS hospital/clinic for four years. She will be starting to work at the AK Family Medicine Residency in January 2015 after taking some time off with her newborn who is due in August. Her professional interests include full scope family medicine with special interests in osteopathic manipulation, OB, and women’s health. Barb enjoys running, skiing, hiking, travel, music, and spending time with her family and friends.
