Benjamin Lentz

Ben grew up a military brat and continued in those footsteps serving in the military in his previous life before convincing his wife and kids to take a chance on medical school. He loves to travel, having been to 49 States and over 50 countries, and enjoys meeting new people from all different backgrounds.

After interviewing here last year, he knew the Residency Program here would provide him with the most extensive training in rural full-spectrum family medicine, and loaded up the family and many dogs from Oklahoma and trekked North to Alaska. Ben’s interests in medicine include rural medicine, global medicine, emergency care, and infectious diseases and vaccines.

He is joined on this adventure by his wife who is a kindergarten teacher, 3 wonderful kids (13, 11, and 8) and currently 4 dogs. Eventually he wants to practice in rural area where he can become part of the community and live the dream of a country doctor.
