Toby grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska (not in a cornfield, amazingly). Her parents sparked her interest in outdoor activities at an early age with frequent camping, canoeing, hiking, and bike riding extravaganzas. She completed her undergraduate education at Creighton University where she received a degree in biology. Toby got stuck out west skiing and hiking in the Tetons off and on for a couple of years while getting her masters in Toxicology at Colorado State University. In Alaska, she found a perfect combination of the things she loves most: her new husband, medicine, and the great outdoors. She received her doctorate of osteopathy at Pacific Northwest University and is happily continuing her medical education and life in Anchorage!
